Counties Manukau Rugby and Hospice New Zealand team up in Paerata

The Counties Manukau Rugby Union and Hospice New Zealand have joined forces to build one of the homes in Paerata Rise. The profits from the sale will be split across the two organisations.

The joint venture by the two organisations has been heavily reliant on donations from local businesses to help complete the house. Mark Price Builders Limited have been one of the key partners in the build.

“Counties Manukau Rugby has given a lot to me in my career, as well the Hospice service being used by my family, we were really pleased to be able to contribute to two worthy causes,” says Mark Price.

“The thing I have enjoyed most about the build has been working with the sub-contractors that have been involved. People are working for next to nothing to try and raise as much as possible”, says Price.

Chris Johnston, Executive Director of Paerata Rise, says the project has embodied the community values that are the foundation for Paerata Rise.

“It has been fantastic to watch and be a part of, the amount of support from local businesses has been outstanding and really shows the strong community base that is already present at Paerata Rise,” says Johnston

The house is due to go up for auction on Saturday 9th November at 4pm.
