Movers and Shakers

You may have noticed new plaques going up around the vicinity.

The Whangapouri stream walk passes through the first of many planned nature reserves and now features a plaque which recognises Paerata Rise Project Director Ross Taylor for all of his tremendous efforts around the township.

Named Ross Island after the vision he had for a bird sanctuary and small island in that location, it will be the first of many plaques that pop up around the community.

Executive Director of Paerata Rise, Chris Johnston, is pleased that Ross is being recognised for all his hard work.

“Ross is a member of our development team and a keen nature lover who has brought great value,” says Johnston.

“He put a plan into action and now the nature reserve is something each of us can enjoy, including a picnic spot that will be put to good use as people continue to flock outdoors.”
