Opening the Playground

The adventure playground is open for summer.

After patiently waiting for the playground to finish construction earlier this year, the community can officially enjoy the fun change of scenery for their children to play.

Delays with extended lockdowns meant the play zones have been closed for the last few months to keep families protected.

Executive Director of Paerata Rise, Chris Johnston, looks forward to seeing the community make the most of the playground.

“We held the opening ceremony for our all-abilities playground the week prior to going into lockdown, so it was only officially open for three days”, says Johnston.

“We’re excited to see children explore the playground as we head into summer and truly see the vision we had planned come to life.”
