Railway Station confirmed for Paerata Rise
KiwiRail has confirmed a railway station at Paerata Rise to make it easier for residents to travel to and from the new town.
The intended station is on the existing rail line and will be located on the eastern side of the township.
A connecting over bridge will provide pedestrian access to the proposed platforms from both sides of the tracks. The station will offer park and ride, pick-up and drop-off facilities, a bus interchange and bicycle parking.
“It’s important that we offer our residents as much ease of accessibility as possible, making it more convenient for commuters to get to work and school on public transport, says Chris Johnston, Executive Director of Paerata Rise. “The train station at Paerata Rise will ensure our community is connected with the rest of Auckland.”
