Virtual meetings the new norm for the Paerata Rise Residents Association
In June and again in August 2020, the Paerata Rise Residents Association came together over Zoom to discuss all things Paerata Rise.
The Residents Association was established earlier this year to ensure community governance and fulfilment at Paerata Rise. The members of the board include:
- Blair Hellyer
- Nigel Allen
- Neihana Tuatini
- Maggie Bygate
- Toa Masina
“It’s important that we continue to connect, no matter the alert level, so it was a pleasure to meet with the dedicated residents association, even though it was on Zoom!” says Chris Johnston, Executive Director of Paerata Rise.
“The committee’s purpose is to ensure Paerata Rise is a place every member feels proud to call home, and we really value their input as we see the community continue to develop.”
Paerata Rise are continuing work on exciting developments including:
- Paerata Rise town rail station and commuter hub
- A new primary school
- Construction of Paerata Rise village centre
- Repurposed heritage buildings to add a sense of history
- Development of community services and activities
- A new Wesley College co-ed high school
