Paerata Rise Adventure Playground
The all-abilities adventure playground is conveniently located next to the Rise ‘n Shine Café and has an ice-cream stall onsite.
On a generous 3000sqm site, children and parents alike are enjoying the adventure playground facilities which were opened in 2021.
Community-minded Paerata Rise has included facilities such as the playground in the township’s master plan since the beginning – and the result is a sight to behold.
Complete with an impressive tiered water play area, a slide tower and multi-level activity zones, children of all ages can be safely entertained within the tactile, safe outdoor environment.
Rise ‘n Shine Cafe
Our community cafe, just up the road.
Rise ‘n Shine cafe is a special spot nestled right in the heart of Paerata Rise. It’s been here since the beginning, serving residents, local tradies and visitors who gathered for coffee, celebrations and community events since December, 2018.
The cafe was built from shipping containers that were originally used to rebuild Christchurch after the earthquakes, and has since had further renovations, including comfy leather & outdoor seating, updated tiled bar and custom Sanremo espresso machine, delicious new menu and pops of colour to bring the adored cafe into a new era. A new Business Development Office has been established with a separate entry, and cafe-goers now enjoy a ‘Fish and Chip’ & Happy Hour evening every Friday.
The crown on top of our beloved cafe is the incredible playground, splash pad,and green space which has been enjoyed by thousands of children and adults alike over the years. Community movie nights during the summer, water play on sunny days, and playground fun for every age, while parents look on from the comfort of the outdoor deck area.
Rise ‘n Shine serves Roma coffees all day, alongside a cabinet packed with homemade savouries and sweet treats. The kitchen menu covers breakfast and lunch, including sought-after gourmet pies (the lamb of which has built up quite the local following), and a fully stocked bar for an afternoon refreshment, spent on the expansive covered deck area.
Furry friends are also welcome, with fresh water bowls available. Rise ‘n Shine is also available for functions, children’s birthday parties and business meetings, with indoor spaces, the all-weather deck and plenty of parking.
Rise ‘n Shine cafe is open to everyone, not just Paerata Rise residents. It’s the hub of our community, it’s where you catch up with your neighbours, attend celebrations, enjoy a drink with friends and let the kids run wild on the playground. And if you’re thinking about making Paerata Rise home, Rise ‘n Shine is your first taste of what life here actually feels like.
